It was Corporal James Tanner! Thanks to your thread "A Little Known Person" his name was at the top of my head.

Another individual who was attending Grover’s that night was Corporal James Tanner, a wounded Union veteran whose training in shorthand would prove invaluable later. Tanner described the moment when the news of Lincoln’s assassination reached the theatre:

“While sitting there witnessing the play about ten o’clock or rather a little after, the entrance door was thrown open and a man exclaimed, “President Lincoln is assassinated in his private box at Ford’s!” Instantly all was excitement and a terrible rush commenced and someone cried out, “Sit down, it is a ruse of the pickpockets.” The audience generally agreed to this, for the most of them sat down, and the play went on; soon, however, a gentleman came out from behind the scenes and informed us that the sad news was too true. We instantly dispersed.”

Kudos, Anita! Yes, Tanner was there at Grover's! And Dave Taylor's page was also my source for the question. You win two free tickets for any play of your choice!

Thanks Roger! I will search for tickets to "The Rivalry" by Norman Corwin.
What "déjà-vu" happened to whom in this place? (You will need to find out what place it is!)

No Google image search, please - despite, Google research is legitimate.
No idea...wild guess...does it have to do with George Atzerodt?
Is this place in the US or Europe?
I have had deja-vu before, and more than once, but not in that place.
Rolleyes
Reminds me of somewhere in France?
Good questions!
Roger - no, George Atzerodt wasn't involved.
Anita and Mike - Europe, yes, but not EU (which also excludes France).
You are on a good way - try to find out the location and name of the building, and the person!
Lincoln Cathedral?
Is this the place where Swedish Prime Minister Olaf Palme was assassinated?
Good guess, Mike! It is a "Lincoln" building, but not a cathedral, and not in Lincoln either.
Roger - another good guess, but it took place in the 19th century (and Sweden is an EU member).
Concerns Henry Rathbone?
Nope, Mick!
Have you determined the country and location meanwhile?
Northern Ireland?
