Nope, not Ed. Now that I think of it, I misspoke; this author did write at least two books on the Lincoln assassination.
Philip Kunhardt?
Nope, not Philip Kunhardt.
A young Otto Eisenschiml?
Nope, not Otto Eisenschiml.
Theodore Roscoe ?
Congratulations, Gene! Yes, it's a young Theodore Roscoe. When I first posted the photo I was just thinking of Web of Conspiracy. Later I remembered he also wrote The Lincoln Assassination, April 14, 1865: Investigation of a President's Murder Uncovers a Web of Conspiracy. This is a much shorter book than Web of Conspiracy, and I think it's meant for younger readers (maybe 6th grade and up).
We know Roscoe mainly for his book, Web of Conspiracy.
He also wrote The Man Who Hated Lincoln and a book about the Trent Affair (maybe a children's book).

He wrote several, well received, non fiction books about WW2 submarine warfare (probably his best work). He is also known for his pulp fiction stories.

And even though later research has corrected some of the "errors" in The Web of Conspiracy, it is still one of my favorite books on the assassination.
Who are these folks?

The Petersens?
Nope, not the Petersens.

Hint #1: These two people had nothing to do with Lincoln's assassination, but it will be apparent why I put the question in the "assassination trivia" thread when the right answer is discovered.
The Dixons?
