John Surratt Jr.?
Good guess, Betty. But it's not him. John Surratt outlived this man by about 11 years.
William Crook?
Nope, not him, Joe. William Crook outlived this man by about 10 years.
I will try a one word clue and see if that helps.

Hint #1: Sketches.
Alfred Waud?
Terrific guess, Joe, but it's not him either.

Hint #2: He is buried in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
Hint #3: His last name begins with a "W"
Hint #4: His first name begins with an "L"

You got it, Jim. It is Lew Wallace. Kudos.

You win one free dinner at the Wok and Roll Restaurant. Simply tell the waiter or waitress you got this question right.

Roger, it is funny that you awarded that; my wife is going out of town this weekend and I had planned to go there!

I'll take some money just in case the waiter or waitress hasn't heard of my award!!!
