'The Tall Target' on TCM Nov. 13
The Tall Target (1951), will be broadcast on TCM on November 13, at 1 am.
This is an interesting film noir type of movie about Lincoln's trip thru Baltimore on the way to his inauguration in 1861. Far from fact based, it is still very entertaining and I would highly recommend it.
It stars Di-ck Powell, Adolphe Menjou, and a very young Ruby Dee.
And June Cleaver pops up in a tiny role!!Big Grin

I've never heard of it. If it only shows at 100am- i guess I'll miss it. I can barely stay awake until 1000pm!

I would never let historical inaccuracies get in the way of appreciation of a good movie. "The Tall Target" is a GOOD movie. If you have a DVR tape it. You can also buy it under the Warner Archive group of DVD's at TCM.com

Laurie Verge is very wise in her observation that virtually any fish is legitimate bait if it hooks a person onto history.

June Cleaver brings to mind the following dialogue from a lost episode of "Leave it to Beaver" I now remember:

Beaver: Gee Dad, Gilbert and I were just fooling around with the Derringer in the presidential box. Gosh, we didn't know it was loaded!

Ward:I think we'd better go into the den and have a little talk.
[Sounds of rifle butts crashing into the front door of the Cleaver house]
