Which President (as ex-President) was once hospitalized in a hospital whose name was the same last name as his?

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia
If Garfield was ever hospitalized in D.C., I'll take a stab at that 'cause our city had a Garfield Hospital.

That is sure a good try, Laurie, but it's not Garfield.

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia
I was going to say General Eisenhower......General Hospital,
but you said last names.

I'll guess Mt Sinai Roosevelt Hospital (New York) and FDR. No scratch that, you said ex President.

Truman Medical Center and Harry Truman. And that's my final answer.
Maybe.

So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in?

Good job, Gene! You are half right. You have the right hospital in New York. So who was the ex-President who was hospitalized there?

Yes, Gene! On November 11, 1918, former President Teddy Roosevelt was admitted to that hospital. You win, Gene!

"Sir, I wish you to understand the true principles of the government. I wish them carried out. I ask nothing more."

These were the last words of a President. Who said these words?

Sounds early 19th century, and someone who died in office. Harrison?

Excellent, Eva. It was William Henry Harrison. It is not known to whom these words were directed. My source suggests the words were meant for John Tyler (not present in the bedroom at the time), but it's just a guess.

You win, Eva!

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia
Sure could be, Bill. Wasn't Clay actually still considered the (acknowledged) Whig Party leader despite not being the party's Presidential nominee?
