I am sorry, Eva, but it's not Ford. Think earlier.

Franklin Roosevelt?

I am a huge FDR fan. I remember reading that Roosevelt traveled to his property at Warm Springs every Thanksgiving to be with his fellow polio patients. Roosevelt always carved the turkey. One year, I think he said something like, "now, we get busy, and commit murder," before carving.

Kudos, Paige! FDR is right. Very good! You and your family win best wishes for a most wonderful Thanksgiving.

One can see that FDR is attacking a drumstick, but I am curious to know how the neck portion of the bird was "concocted" because it appears to have been cut off more before cooking so that the stuffing could be fancily shown.

Before the last turkey has been digested, here's another plume-y pal to guess who saw no pardon by whom?

William Howard Taft?
So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in?

Good guess, Gene, but this was not Taft's turkey!

Well, Eva, it was not Ronald Reagan...

The Reagan turkey was smart, wasn't he? At least he tried to escape instead of wearing the dinner invitation as a necklace!

Very close, Roger, but it was not Kennedy's turkey who presented himself like above.

Hint #1: Theoretically (as for the natural life expectancy of a turkey) the turkey could have met the Kennedys, too (this goes for both sides of approaching the Kennedy era).
