RE: Assassination Trivia
This is simply a guess but I say it's Garfield because of the ironic twist!

RE: Assassination Trivia
Anita, that is a logical guess, but it's not Garfield.

I go the shortest way: Johnson?

RE: Assassination Trivia
Eva, that is also a nice try, but it's not Johnson.
Hint #1: The book can be purchased on Amazon. It was written in 1983. |

Hint#2: It's a President that Booth could have been if he had lived a regular life span.

RE: Assassination Trivia
I'm still going for the ironic twist. Is it McKinley?

RE: Assassination Trivia
We have a winner - kudos, Thomas! It was Chester A. Arthur. The book is entitled The Chester A. Arthur Conspiracy by William Wiegand. On Amazon it says, "An alternative story of John Wilkes Booth after the assassination of Lincoln."
http://www.amazon.com/The-Chester-A-Arth...0385278748 Back in 1983 People magazine had a small article about the book. Thomas, you win all my best wishes in your run for the Presidency. P.S. Special thanks to Gene. Gene suggested the idea for this question - much appreciated. |

RE: Assassination Trivia
It has been many a year since I read that one. In fact, I'm not sure I ever finished reading it. There was another fictional one that came out about the same time, I think, called the Cosgrove Report. It was a fun read and had very good footnotes (yes, footnotes in a piece of fiction!).
Speaking of The Cosgrove Report, it picked up on an old theory and brought it to life once more. Even up to within the past decade there were people looking for this tunnel - http://www.brooklynrail.net/Booth_in_Brooklyn.html |

Are we going to have another case of a missing birth certificate? Hope you have a magnificent puppet master to pull that off again! |
