Mr. Jackson's driveway at the Hermitage in Tennessee is dubbed "The War Road" because of the trees' relationship to each battlefield that Andy fought on. I was also wondering if anyone would pick up on all the questions related to Andrew Jackson that I posted sequentially. Jackson, like Lincoln, is somewhat of a puzzlement to me in character and politics. I would love to have seen the two of them debate issues. It's too bad that they were of different eras and that Jackson died before Lincoln's rise in politics. |

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia
You had to give a Yankee another A+. I'm digging this....
Speaking of the trees at The Hermitage, in 1998 a tornado came through there and took down several trees that were over 250 years old. A close family friend, Bruce Kunkel, is a master luthier and runs Gibson Guitars custom/historical department in Nashville. The trees were made into Gibson's "Old Hickory" limited edition. One is in the Smithsonian and the rest are sought after classics. RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia
Let's get back to more trivial matters: Which President's most notable paper in office may well have been his first address to Congress in which he gave an impassioned plea to import more PENGUIN GUANO into the U.S.?
