RE: Lincoln's blood and his death certificate
Over the past several years Dr. John Sotos has been urging DNA tests in the belief that those examinations would prove that the president suffered (and was dying) from a rare genetic cancer syndrome called multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2B. I would think if this amount of Lincoln's blood really existed he would have been knocking on the door. IMO Lincoln's blood was not preserved.

I completely agree Roger. I saw the NatGeo special where Dr. Sotos tried desperately to obtain a sample of AL's blood. No stone was left unturned!

I am still curious about the clerk's signature.

Roger, it is indeed the signature of N. W. Matheny.

Compare the signature on the death certificate here which can be super enlarged https://archive.org/details/assassixxxxxxxxxxx00linc to to his signature on the Deed of Ninian and Elizabeth Edwards http://alplm-cdi.com/chroniclingillinois.../show/8021

Many thanks, Anita!

I still am curious about about N. W. Matheny signing the document. The page here lists several Mathenys as the court clerk over the years, but no N.W. Matheny.

RE: Lincoln's blood and his death certificate
Thanks, Anita. He was the Clerk of the Sangamon County Commissioners Court. The historical list I posted included the clerks of the Sangamon County Circuit Court. I guess these were two different positions. Thus, the confusion I had is now cleared. Once again, thank you, Anita!
