Kudos, Anita! Indeed the last President to die inside the White House was Zachary Taylor in 1850. The only other President to die there was William Henry Harrison in 1841.
Anita, when you asked whether the death happened in the first or second half of the century I was not sure where to place 1850. I looked at several sources, all of which agreed that 1850 is in the second half of the century.
I think that I will have to disagree with the experts. The two haves of the century should be equal. The timing would begin with the first second of the first century. So, the first second would be 01 of the first day 01 (January 1, 0001). Necessarily, the first half of the century would be the end of the fiftieth year. The second half would begin on the first second of the year 51 (January 1, 0051) and end at midnight on December 31, 0100).

I split the century half on my left hand and half on my right.
Allocated 10 years to each finger /thumb ...
So if each of my fingers/thumb is worth 10 years ...
First finger left hand = 1800 -1809 (1 st Jan 1800 up until 31 Dec 1809)
In my opinion, time begins with January 1, 0001 at the "first" second of time. At the common division of time between B.C. and A.C., I do not understand how it can be thought of logically in any other way.
What are AC and BC in history? - Quorahttps://www.quora.com ›
May 23, 2018 — These years are counted from the date generally assigned to birth of Jesus Christ. So, 2000 means 2000 years after birth of Christ.
Thus, Christ would have been one year old at the end of the day on December 31, 0001 and one year will have passed in time.

Who was the only ex-President whose death was intentionally disregarded and not recognized by the sitting President?
This first name that jumped to mind was John Tyler so that is what I will go with. I remember that he threw his hat in with the Confederacy so that seems like it may a good reason to have disregarded him.
