Most hotels/motels will refund you in full with 24 to 48 hours notice -- especially due to illness or death in family. It's these super-duper travel agencies that try to get you for all they can.

It took doctors a long time to get my meds adjusted. One of the first I was on was Lisinopril, which has the habit of making one cough. It was so bad that one day at work a woman walked up to me, completely out of the blue, and said "I know this is none of my business, but are you taking Lisinopril?" She was a nurse and had heard that cough several times before. I got my doctor to change it within a couple of days.

A relative of mine experienced that problem. Right now, I feel a bit light headed now and then. I am hoping it will pass when I get accustomed to the medicine (Maxzide). Thanks.

Evidently medical professionals call it "the Lisiniopril cough". Once I stopped taking it the cough cleared up in a couple of weeks.

Maxzide is one of the few I didn't take. The only thing I can say is stay on top of it with your doctor. There are a number of medicines out there that work without the side effects.

Are you monitoring your BP at home each day - especially when you feel light-headed? Every morning, I have to take oxygen levels, blood sugar, weight, and BP before I do anything else. I also test in the pm when I think something might be off, but usually there is nothing significant. I also keep the daily readings in a journal and sometimes take it with me to the various doctors (all of whom are in one medical group, all in the same building, and all share the same computer info on me).

For the past three years, everything has been within normal ranges. It has also been very useful in forcing me to slow down, eat well, take my medication. It has been a real learning experience for me, a person who still doesn't like going to doctors until I nearly die and also was raised in the military health care system where you were lucky if you got a follow-up within six months time...

And, that's my history instead of Lincoln assassination history for a change.
