I bought the Volk Lincoln Life-mask years ago from the Lincoln Museum in Ft. Wayne. My wife added the glasses for fun. She says it reminds her of the picture of Lincoln with his son (wearing glasses).

RE: Show us your Lincoln collectables!
Did they close the museum in Ft Wayne? I visited it once several years ago, it was nice.

That's a face of a man that has been through a lot of difficulty, and the face of a man that didn't give up.
I always thought the masks were cool, but the eyes always weirded me out!

So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in?

Gene: Yes, the museum is closed. It's collections were distributed to various museums and universities. It was so sad that it closed.
Yes, the eyes (or lack of?) always is a little spooky!

I also have the replica of the life-mask from 1865-quite a difference between the two. Lincoln greatly aged in those 5 years.

Here's one that was really making the rounds several years ago.

Roger, at least the one you posted looks more like Lincoln. The current one from the link I posted is obviously not Lincoln-doesn't look like him at all. Gene: I asked myself the same thing.

I thought I'd share this with you all. My son Nathan drew this for me! It is free-hand. I'm blown-away! He is not finished with it yet. I plan on framing it and placing it in my Lincoln room.

At first Bill, I have to confess I thought that was a tattoo.

Your son is a very talented artist. Great job!
