RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia
This is just a wild guess, but I wonder if the authorities within the State of Virginia thought that his grave would be better protected within the city limits and within Hollywood Cemetery since he died in the middle of the Civil War? Did they possibly fear the desecration of graves in family cemeteries, especially that of someone considered a traitor by the President of the United States? Two years after his death, that Yankee regiment from Ohio did attempt to destroy Sherwood Forest.

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia
Good try, Eva, but it was not Roosevelt (nor FDR either). But you are in the right century.

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia
My first thought was George W. Bush because both Ford and Reagan died during his term, but I can't come up with a third. I then thought Coolidge, but only found Harding and Wilson dying during his presidency. I give up.

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia
I am going to second the choice of Richard Nixon, because I know that Lyndon Johnson and Harry Truman died while he was in office. But, I can't think of the third person.

I believe that the third former president to have died during Richard Nixon's presidency was Dwight Eisenhower, because he died in 1969, which would have been at the beginning of Nixon's first term.

RE: Presidents and First Ladies Trivia
Steve and Roger, you win. Kudos. Richard Nixon is the correct answer.

1. Dwight Eisenhower passed away on March 28, 1969.

2. Harry Truman passed away on December 26, 1972.

3. Lyndon Johnson passed away on January 22, 1973.
