RE: Rodney O. Davis
Sad news indeed. He co-edited Herndon's Informants along with Douglas Wilson. Herndon's Informants is an invaluable contribution to the field of Lincoln studies.

RE: Rodney O. Davis
What a tragic loss. I had no idea he was that old. As one who thinks Herndon gets a raw deal from history, I think Davis and Wilson deserve a great deal of respect for detoxifying Herndon (with the appropriate amount of skepticism blended in).
ETA: Here is a photo of Wilson (left) and Davis in front of the Main Hall at Knox College in Galesburg where the Lincoln-Douglas Debate took place. Best Rob Abraham Lincoln is the only man, dead or alive, with whom I could have spent five years without one hour of boredom. --Ida M. Tarbell
I want the respect of intelligent men, but I will choose for myself the intelligent. --Carl Sandburg
