Rodney O. Davis - Thomas Lapsley - 11-11-2019 08:54 PM I have learned that Dr. Rodney O. Davis of the Knox College Lincoln Studies Center has passed away on November 5 at the age of 87. RE: Rodney O. Davis - RJNorton - 11-12-2019 04:43 AM Sad news indeed. He co-edited Herndon's Informants along with Douglas Wilson. Herndon's Informants is an invaluable contribution to the field of Lincoln studies. RE: Rodney O. Davis - Rob Wick - 11-12-2019 06:28 PM What a tragic loss. I had no idea he was that old. As one who thinks Herndon gets a raw deal from history, I think Davis and Wilson deserve a great deal of respect for detoxifying Herndon (with the appropriate amount of skepticism blended in). ETA: Here is a photo of Wilson (left) and Davis in front of the Main Hall at Knox College in Galesburg where the Lincoln-Douglas Debate took place. Best Rob |
