He's NOT a Powell, I'm sure.....
Is it Sergeant Dixon? Ed Issac's great Grandfather? OR..... a Mudd descendant? "The Past is a foreign country...they do things differently there" - L. P. Hartley |

RE: Assassination Trivia
None of those, Betty. Try a descendant that you've met in the last couple years.

RE: Assassination Trivia
I have seen a similar photo and it has to be Clampitt. Betty would have met his descendant at the Aiken tombstone dedication. I spoke with the descendant by phone a few days later, and he promised to visit or send Clampitt materials. So far, nothing...

RE: Assassination Trivia
Indeed it is John W. Clampitt. This picture comes from the cover piece of his book, "Echoes from the Rocky Mountains".
Well done. |

RE: Assassination Trivia
Henry Riggs Rathbone? I remember posting a picture of him in front of the Peterson house and noting that he was born on Lincoln's birthday.
His photographs on Google look very similar to the gentleman on the left. |
