Confederate Soldier's Coin!
I have a 1858-Flying Eagle Penney Coin.I want to donate it for a Kiwanis Club [silent auction] fund raising event.This coin fell out of a Confederate Soldier's pocket at Gettysburg!The coin is worn,and a bullet comes with it.Please help me with the aprox.value of these two items.Remember that the proceed goes to charity! Herb - is there a provenance to this; that it was in the pocket of a Confederate soldier at Gettysburg?

I find online that these pennies range in price between $16.00 on eBay and about $169-$200.00 on other sites. The provenance would make the price sky-rocket....

Wiki has an interesting piece regarding the "model" for the Flying Eagle coin; "Peter the Eagle!" Had never heard of this before....

Success!-The coin[in a frame] sold for 200$ to a local Civil War collector.It was for charity at a Kiwanis Club fund-raiser.
