RE: Abraham Lincoln and the Eighth Judicial Circuit
Hi Laurie

I am anxious to get the Civil War Washington Map out too. It’s a complicated process when you do everything yourself. I have to publish them myself. The Washington map show the location of 250 buildings and homes of people in Civil War Washington. It would be nice to get it out this fall.
I am happy to hear that Ed is looking good. In eleven days he is 91 years young.

Lincoln's Ladder to the Presidency: The Eighth Judicial Circuit
by Guy C. Fraker
I have not finished the book yet but I find it excellent and full of fascinating detail. I recommend it highly.
I made a mistake and ordered the Kindle version. I don’t recommend a Kindle version if you want to use it for reference or refer to the index. It can be done, but nothing beats grabbing the book and flipping to the back for a page reference. Kindle books are OK for novels and thrillers.
Many times one hears “What book would you recommend that I read about Abraham Lincoln?” I frequently say “Pick up any book on Lincoln and start there.” Each and every book on Lincoln leads to others. I find every stage of his life so interesting and multi-layered. Once you dive in you just keep swimming. This book is a perfect example. How did Lincoln become President? The introduction to this book is very insightful. Lincoln’s work on the Circuit made him President. Lincoln’s Ladder To The Presidency is available on Amazon.

Kieran, I think the work you do is marvelous! If anyone is not familiar with Kieran please see Dave Taylor's article here.

I agree, the JWB Escape Route Map is fantastic. It helped me a lot to understand and visualize. A similar map about the eighth circuit would be great - I hope, Kieran, you will have finished it soon, and keep us posted on the release.

RE: Abraham Lincoln and the Eighth Judicial Circuit
Hi Eva Elizabeth
Thank you for the kind words about the Booth Map.
The Lincoln map is actually the life of Abraham Lincoln from his birth to when he left Illinois to go to Washington as President-elect – all shown on a map. I start with the Lincoln ancestors entering Kentucky through the Cumberland Trail. And I end with Lincoln stopping in Westport, New York to see Grace Bedell. Getting all this history onto a map has been like putting the Gettysburg Address onto the head of a pin.
The Eighth Judicial Circuit is a small part of the map unfortunately, but still, I want every detail on my maps to be accurate so that they can be used as trusted reference material. I am hoping to get it printed by September. Another part of my map is Lincoln’s movements during the Black Hawk War.
Kieran
