Forum Problems
Forum Problems - Many folks have written me about problems logging onto the forum yesterday and early today. The error most people are getting looks like this:

"MyBB has experienced an internal SQL error and cannot continue"

This means there is a problem with the company whose servers host the forum. It is not your computer's fault, and there is nothing I can do until Host Gator fixes its problem. I hope the problem is fixed today.

Many times this problem is caused by the company's servers being overloaded. Think of your personal computer's hard drive being full and not working properly. This has happened a few times in the past with Host Gator, and they always have been able to correct the problem in short order. Hope that happens again.

When I have received the error message this morning I have hit my browser's refresh button over and over, and most times the forum appears normal after a few tries. Please attempt this if Host Gator does not resolve the issue today. I am sorry about this, as Host Gator has normally been a reliable company when it comes to hosting websites. My Lincoln website was also down periodically yesterday; it's not just the forum. I plan on sticking with Host Gator unless the problems become chronic.

P.S. This same message may also show even if you were able to log in successfully. It can happen as you navigate the forum. The same "fix" mentioned above - hitting the refresh button on your browser several times - has worked successfully for me when this has happened this morning.
