Actress Julie Harris has passed away.
Did anyone mention that Julie Harris passed away within the last week? As is well known, she played the role of Mary Lincoln in the Last Days of Mary Lincoln (1976). She also was the great granddaughter of Confederate officer Samuel Smith Harris. He is buried here in Detroit's Elmwood Cemetery.

Nice picture Roger. Maybe folks don't also know that Julie Harris was the voice of Mary Chesnut in Ken Burns' The Civil War.

I finally got to see that recently, when my daughter gave me a year of Netflix for my birthday! That, a couple of the old black and white movies from the 40's, and a couple of old You Are There episodes on President Lincoln were among the first DVD's I ordered.

I haven't heard yet what the burial plans are- or even if she is to be buried or cremated. If her remains are placed here the Detroit area- ill be sure to visit. If anyone comes across plans for the arrangements please post.
