RE: 2014 Lincoln Colloquium
Wish I could go. The intellectual firepower that you can have access to for just $25 is amazing. I would especially love to see Carwardine's presentation on Herndon and Lincoln's religion, which will make up a big part of my Tarbell book.
Also, am I wrong in assuming that Burlingame is writing a new biography of Herndon? If so it will be interesting to see what direction he takes, given that his mentor, David Donald, wrote the only other one. Best Rob Abraham Lincoln is the only man, dead or alive, with whom I could have spent five years without one hour of boredom. --Ida M. Tarbell
I want the respect of intelligent men, but I will choose for myself the intelligent. --Carl Sandburg

RE: 2014 Lincoln Colloquium
I'm sure some of these guys are good, I even have a book written by one of them.
But, if your going to learn about Abraham Lincoln, wouldn't you really rather spend an exciting, educational, fun filled weekend with Joe Di Cola, LinclonMan, Rob Wick, Jerry Eagon, me and our spouses. Enjoying the beautiful colors of fall. Feel the history in a relaxed, casual and friendly environment. Get your photo taken with Tad. And no $25 registration fee. Make your reservations now for the first ever Lincoln Discussion Symposium Springfield Extravaganza this coming Oct 10-12. You don't want to miss it! So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |

RE: 2014 Lincoln Colloquium
Where are my manners? If you are one of the speakers next year at the Coloquium, we want to offer an invitation to you also. You will get to sit down and have an honest to goodness real conversation with us over a cup of coffee. I don't know about "intellectual firepower", but we guarantee a good time in a relaxed atmoshphere with some pretty interesting people
The Coloquium does look interesting too So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |
