Over 8 inches with sleet on top and snow is still falling heavily on top of that. Just went out and shoveled a path on the deck to feed my birds and squirrels. Haven't dug the car out yet and I have a long driveway. It's not supposed to stop until tomorrow morning.

Snow is very deep and heavy with the ice on top. Wind is blowing hard - but I LOVE snow, so I'm happy.....

Hope everyone is well -

I have 14 inches and I got spared from having to shovel my driveway! So I'm sitting on my rear end watching TVG and The X Files.

19 inches as of 11:25. Good thing I got this book to read:

http://store.fords.org/a549/the-lincoln-...eatre.html

It is the companion book to the Silent Witnesses exhibit the Center For Education and Leadership had last Spring.

It's a bummer Gene hasn't chimed in yet because Winter Storm Jonas may remind him of a Jonas Brothers song. No pun intended!

Sorry Thomas, I am still getting over my disappointment that you liked Ice Nine Kills. Ick....

Let's try this little winter storm song

So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in?

At 1:00pm Saturday, I have over 30 inches. I too have a long driveway. My daughter has a Grand Cherokee which is usually a champ in the snow, however, today, it's pretty much staying put. I have my skidloader ready to work on the driveway tomorrow when the snow lets up.

I was watching TV and saw this dumb guy and his daughter running through the snow in their swim trunks so I decided to follow in their footsteps. Big GrinBig Grin

8:15. Gov. Larry Hogan of Md has shut down both interstate 70 (from the Baltimore beltway to Breezewood, Pa) and interstate 270 (from Washington beltway to Frederick, Md). The entire lengths of both interstates until 10:00am Sunday.

Did you by any chance see the news clip of a competitive swimmer somewhere in the D.C. area who stood outside and stripped to his Speedo and then took a dive face-first into his snow-filled swimming pool? How many ways can you say "dumb?"

My neighbor's 17 year old son did a similar thing Saturday - I saw the kid run out of his house onto the deck and race around the yard for two laps in the blizzard with nothing on but a pair of Speedos.....what a nut!

Shoveled my car out - it took about an hour just to sweep off the car, but it started like a charm (new battery.) Still haven't shoveled the drive - a friend of mine who has a truck with a plow is going to do that for me. I've never seen snow this deep in my 62 years of life....I'm 5'9" and it's over my knees and up to my thigh in places where it drifted. We got about 18 to 20 inches.

Roads around here are still unplowed and will probably remain so for a few days. I can't tell where my yard ends and the road begins in front of my house. Interstate 64 was still a mess last I heard.....

I saw that and was laughing so hard there were tears coming out of my eyes!

The MD Aviation Administration announced Baltimore Washington International Airport will resume Operations this afternoon. After all this snow I think I'll need two weeks here:
