The Lincoln Assassination on SNL
Amy Schumer was on Saturday Night Live last night and gave us a hilarious reenactment of the assassination of Abraham Lincoln: http://www.hulu.com/watch/855648

Dave: I don't have a Hulu account. Is it viewable somewhere else?

Bill,

I don't have a Hulu account either but it still played for me (after an advertisement, of course).

I think they portrayed Mary Todd Lincoln perfectly!

So funny!

"I desire to thank you, sir, for your testimony on behalf of my murdered father." "Who are you, sonny? " asked I. "My name is Tad Lincoln," was his answer.

Finally saw it! Loved it. Dave: thanks for bringing this to our attention- I know I'm going to get asked about it. I haven't stayed up and watched SNL in years.

Hysterical, Dave! Lovin' it! (Rather good costuming on Mary as well!)

I remember this 1992 Saturday Night Live skit re: Lincoln and Booth as well....

Similar to Herndon's idea of Mary Lincoln's behavior.

It's unfair - y'all water my mouth and the video can "only be streamed in the USA".

Amy Schumer tries to be funny, but she is not. I wish Ford's would do a reenactment of the assassination.

Ha Ha! This one gets my science fiction brain going! Illustrates a what is called a causal loop (a time travel paradox in which a future event leads to a past event due to time travel). Lincoln went forward in time and saw that Booth killed him. So Lincoln next went backward in time and tried to kill Booth in order to prevent him from killing his future self (Lincoln's) - humorously of course, it being on SNL . Now to the "paradox" question. So in going to the past and attempting to kill Booth (and failing), did Lincoln instill a personal hatred so great in Booth that it in turn actually caused Booth to assassinate him in the future? Deep man, deep. And that's not as even crazy as some of the other conspiracy theories I've read!
