Double Ulke exposures
I've always heard there was only one photo made of Lincoln's death bed. This thread clearly shows there were at least two photos taken. Scroll down.

RE: Double Ulke exposures
Thanks, Joe. I remember buying Twenty Days in the 1960's and seeing the Ulke photo for the first time. I will never forget that memory.

RE: Double Ulke exposures
Thanks Joe, included in this collection is a period photo of the back of Lincoln's home in Springfield. I don't remember seeing that before. (page 9)
We've talked about the wallpaper in the death room before, where Roger posted photo's of the death room. (an interesting thread) http://rogerjnorton.com/LincolnDiscussio...light=Ulke (The chair next to the bed has been moved slightly between photographs) So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |

RE: Double Ulke exposures
Hi Joe, I am going from memory here. The second photo was discovered in the not so distant past in the belongings of a relative of Henry Ulke, in Europe (Ireland?). along with some other documentation that gave rise to the theory that Henry, not Julius took the photos.

RE: Double Ulke exposures
Thanks, Rich. That's fascinating it was only recently found. I've never heard that and am surprised it didn't make a bigger ripple in the news.
