Wow Dave, you are experiencing a full blown Nerdgasm here... and yes, I wish I could try this some day too. No matter how good those crickets look when you get hungry, don't do it.

RE: Dave Taylor's Great Adventure
How do you plan to simulate the feeling of being relentlessly pursued?
May I suggest going to a vacation time share sales meeting and not buying one.

So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in?

Since Wilkes Booth was eager to read the newspapers while he was in the pines, Dave is wise to do his reenactment now -- before print newspapers completely disappear, unfortunately.

Many thanks to Rick Smith for sending these photos. Rick was at Surratt's Tavern today and took the following photos of Dave:

RE: Dave Taylor's Great Adventure
Those are great photos! Dave looks ready to go on his Great Adventure.

Rick, will you be at the Surratt Tavern to take photos when Dave returns or will he be going straight home?

Linda,

I would imagine that Dave will be ready to stagger on home.

Great photos, Dave!!

You are so lucky to be doing this! I used to love things like this when I was young!

Laurie,

The handguns are non-firing reproduction models.

Are you referring to his scowl ? I've heard wearing 19th century clothes will do that to you.

I've worn 19th Century apparel quite a bit in my youth -- but only scowled when I wore a corset in 90+ degree weather! Big Grin

RE: Dave Taylor's Great Adventure
Lindsey here with an update:

I went and saw our fearless Boothie out in the woods around 1 PM and took a picture as "proof of life" for his Twitter page!

He's asked me to keep you all updated here as well so he did some filming along the Booth tour yesterday before we dropped him off at Loyola and after the bus pulled off, walked to his designated spot and set up camp. Yesterday was pretty warm so he was hot in his thick 19th century clothing but then got pretty cold last night. I brought him some food (ham, bread, and water yummm) just likes Jones did and will be back tomorrow. So he's bored, but did some filming that he's happy with, and hopefully will do more tomorrow.
