In the possession of one of Henry's relations, living in Europe when the discovery was made was the 2nd picture of the room. I believe they would have taken the pics together.

I can recall only seeing one photo of the "death room", and it was pretty worn condition. Have both pics been published?

So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in?

This should be easy for y'all: What Civil War/assassination figure represented Dan Sickles in his murder trial, and what was the unusual result of that trial? If you want to really show how smart you are - what is the story behind the murder?

Edwin M. Stanton represented Sickles and it was one of the first times an insanity defense was used.

He killed Philip Barton Key, son of Francis Scott Key of Star Bangled Banner fame, whom he found out was having an affair with his wife.

This old teacher just gave you an A!

Francis Scott Key had another son murdered. Do you know his name and the circumstances? You can also make a small connection to the Lincoln assassination with this one too...

Rob,

I forgot to say that I enjoyed your typo on "Star Bangled Banner." Sometimes, when I hear the horrible renditions of our national anthem that we have to endure with some of the popular singers of the day, I'm inclined to rename it the "Star Mangled Banner."

Another son was killed in a duel, but I have no idea on an assassination connection.

RE: Trivial Trivia - taking trivia to new levels
You are correct Roger. The son was named Daniel Ross Key, and the duel took place behind an establishment known as Good Hope Tavern. Those familiar with the Booth escape route know that Booth and Herold crossed over the Navy Yard Bridge into what is now Anacostia (then known as Uniontown), hung a left onto Good Hope Road (then known as Harrison Street), and climbed a long hill. At the top of that hill was where Good Hope Tavern sat. There's a chicken joint there now.

Yes, yes, I know I'm stretching it a bit, but anything to stay within the themes of this forum.

Hey guys, here's one: what do Barack Obama, Matthew Broderick, Rick Warren, John Wayne & Vanessa Williams all have in common?

The answer is, perhaps, surprising: all five persons have Civil War Union Army ancestors.

Did not know that, although I think I remember something published about Broderick when he was in Glory.

RE: Trivial Trivia - taking trivia to new levels
In March of 1865, President Lincoln had a meeting with three Union officers aboard the River Queen at City Point.

1) Who were the officers?
2) Name the artist who memorialized the conference in a painting
3) What is the name of the painting?
4) Which officer was, apparently, a "self-invited" guest to the conference?

1. Grant, Sherman and David Porter.
2. George E.A. Healy.
3. The Peacemakers
4. I would guess Porter.
