Sounds of Lincoln
Neat article about making historically accurate sound effects for the movie.

RE: Sounds of Lincoln
That is absolutely amazing and wonderful to know that a production company in this day and age is so concerned with historical accuracy.

RE: Sounds of Lincoln
I second that! It is quite extraordinary to see that they actually used the sounds of Lincoln's pocket watch.

Well, at least Mr. Taylor didn't take it seriously.

RE: Sounds of Lincoln
Would Mr. Taylor be singing to the South "You've Got A Friend" or "Fire & Rain?"

Or maybe his song, 'Steamroller Blues', which Elvis did later in his career.Wink

Does anyone remember the old song about the grandfather's clock "that stopped, short, never to run again on the day that the old man died?"

I do! My son had a musical lamp when he was a baby that played that tune and my mother would sing the words to him.

RE: Sounds of Lincoln
After I saw the movie I must say Daniel Day-lewis did do a good job and boy they almost had him matched perfectly. I noticed they did try to be as accurate as possible when making the movie. I thought it was good but they could have added a few things but i think it was good.

Agreed I didn't see that as a good match for Abe.

Was just watching 60 minutes and they had Steven Speliberg on there and they said that the museum allowed them to record the ticking of Abe's pocket watch and the ticking you hear in the movie is his orignial watch.
