Normally I have not been introducing new members to the group because the names have generally been familiar to others, but we have a new member today registered as "sandman," and I thought I should introduce this gentleman as many may wonder who "sandman" is. He is Tom Goodrich, author of a wonderful Lincoln assassination book entitled The Darkest Dawn - Lincoln, Booth, and the Great American Tragedy.

"Among the hundreds of books published about the assassination of our 16th president, this is an exceptional volume." -- Frank J. Williams, founding chair of The Lincoln Forum, a renowned Lincoln scholar and author, and former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Rhode Island.

Enough said - welcome, Tom!

Hi Tom - Laurie Verge here from Surratt House Museum. I have recommended your book to so many people (and forced them to buy it from our gift shop!). I also told them what good speakers you and your wife were at the Surratt Conference right after the book came out. You were ill that day, but you came through for us with a fantastic job. That's what professionalism is all about.
