Thank you Betty! I was invited by some friends to attend the celebration here in Germany. They work for the USO and will be hosting a great party for those that cannot be home that day. This is such an important family thing in the US and I hope we can add just a little holiday cheer while they miss out on all that is going on at home.

Angela - Thank you ahead of time for adding some comfort and cheer for our armed forces personnel overseas. I remember a very sad Thanksgiving and Christmas in the early-1950s while my father was fighting in Korea.

No matter what condition we find ourselves in- we can still take the time to be grateful. It really is a matter of choice of perspective. I don't know the author of rhis but it says everything/

Mrs. Hale was instrumental in pressing Mr. Lincoln and Wm. Seward for making Thanksgiving a national holiday."
