Farewell to Roy Clark
I admit to appreciated country music - even in the 1960s. One of my favorites at that time was Marylander Roy Clark (remember Hee Haw?). While I was busy dating, teaching, getting married, etc., I always wanted to see him perform.

It wasn't until about 15 years ago that I found out that one of my best friends in high school married Clark's sister! Too late...

Just saw that Roy Clark died today. Another part of my youth gone.

RE: Farewell to Roy Clark
Roy Clark's family was especially close to my dad's family. Although I never met Mr. Clark, I did meet his parents and family. They lived and died in Meherrin, Virginia - near my Dad's family and were neighbors. They all went to the same church and schools. My uncle went to school with Roy from elementary school on. Uncle Geeder said that Roy always could play anything.

They are all buried in the same little country churchyard along with my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. I think Roy in buried in LA - don't know....
