Lincoln painting
A friend at work inherited a portrait of Lincoln that appears to be of very high quality. He would like to know more about the painting and when it was painted, it’s not in the original frame but is in excellent condition, it’s signed and I believe the artist last name is cook. If you have any information or leads I would like to help my friend get more information.

My first instinct would be to contact Harold Holzer. Perhaps Roger can forward to him. I don't know the inner workings of the ALPLM, but they probably have a staff person who specializes in Lincoln images, portraits, etc.??

I need to figure out how to post a picture of it, It’s striking and very vivid. Thanks for your advice.

RE: Lincoln painting
Matthew, if you can scan the picture and send it to me via email attachment, I can then post it.

RE: Lincoln painting
I am collecting information about where the painting came from and who owned it as well as pictures. I’ll post everything when I have checked everything out.

RE: Lincoln painting
What happened on this-was the painting identified as to the artist?
