Lincoln cabins
I found this interesting article on dating the Hodgenville Lincoln cabins:

RE: Lincoln cabins
I agree it is interesting.
Sadly they only confirmed what those who previously investigated found out and reported on, many years ago. I wonder how much money this study took? Weather and insects took their toll on the longevity on the logs. Back then, a primitive log cabin might last between 20-40 years, if lucky. When they started to seriously deteriorate, they were taken apart and the logs in decent shape would be used in barns and other out buildings. So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |
