Sadly they only confirmed what those who previously investigated found out and reported on, many years ago.
I wonder how much money this study took?
Weather and insects took their toll on the longevity on the logs. Back then, a primitive log cabin might last between 20-40 years, if lucky. When they started to seriously deteriorate, they were taken apart and the logs in decent shape would be used in barns and other out buildings.
