RE: Extra Credit Questions
Is it the place where Lincoln advised an abused woman, on trial for murdering her husband, that if she was thirsty, she might try the water in Tennessee because he heard it tasted good there. She later escaped.

On second thought, was it the location of the "Almanac" trial?

RE: Extra Credit Questions
Is it where Lincoln and a few others jumped from a window to prevent a quorum ?

RE: Extra Credit Questions
Kudos to Michael! As an Illinois state legislator Lincoln once jumped from a window of the Second Presbyterian Church, the temporary location of the Illinois House of Representatives, in December 1840. The motive of the uncommon action, for which Lincoln suffered considerable humiliation, was to break a quorum when Democrats called for a vote to cripple the Whig-favored state bank. Two other legislators, Joseph Gillepsie and Asahel Gridley, jumped with Lincoln.

RE: Extra Credit Questions
Looks pretty flat down there. Does it have to do with New Salem?

RE: Extra Credit Questions
Hmmm. Not in Illinois.

After Lincoln served in the Blackhawk War, he was granted some land in Iowa (I think in Crawford and Tama Counties).

Does this marker indicate/commemorate one of those parcels of land?
