Is the site in New York? |

Is the site in New York? Eva, He visited the site only once to my knowledge. And I would say that it was a well-known event. No, the site is not in New York. |

My question, too. But it looks like a private home to me, and I don't recall him making visits in private homes on that trip. So - is it a private place?

Yes, Eva, it IS a private home. But when he went there, it was not for a expressly for a personal visit to the owner (though Lincoln did speak to the owners). |

His visit to Richmond being an example, Lincoln took a few trips outside of Washington DC during the war. He visited this site on one of those trips. An additional clue: It was NOT on his trip to Gettysburg. |

How about Frederick, Maryland when he visited there on October 4, 1862 after the battle of Antietam?
