RE: Extra Credit Questions
What well-known person said this about Abraham Lincoln?
"His birth brought into the world the miracle of a new life, than which none has ever exercised a more profound influence upon the civilization of the time. It was the beginning of a life the memory of whose unselfish devotion to the welfare of mankind will live as long as men prize liberty. In its fullness a nation consecrated to the doctrine of human rights was saved from destruction. The sacrifices that marked its course presaged a finer relationship among races and peoples." |

RE: Extra Credit Questions
That sounds like something a political leader might say, and prior to 1970.
Am I on the right track? So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |

RE: Extra Credit Questions
He was a leader, Gene, but it was in the military. And, you are correct, the quote in the question is prior to 1970.

RE: Extra Credit Questions
I don't have a clue, but I'll guess at Gen. George Patton (a favorite of mine).
BTW: I recently came across a quote that I really agree with, but have no idea who said it: “Leadership is about the future, so all true leadership begins with vision.” There was a similar one right before it that said "Management is about the present. Leadership is about the future." |

RE: Extra Credit Questions
I am sorry, Laurie and Eva, but it was neither Patton nor Deming.
Hint #1: This man was once considered a possible Presidential candidate. |

Bill, it was not MacArthur, and Eva, the man never became a U.S. President.

RE: Extra Credit Questions
Yes, it's a familiar name in history, and he has been mentioned before. The last time he was mentioned was in a post by Bill R.
