RE: Extra Credit Questions
Johnson did remain at the Kirkwood House for his residence, Betty, but he needed more space and a more professional atmosphere for his office.
Joe, you are close. Think about what's on the other side of the White House. |

RE: Extra Credit Questions
You are correct, Mr. Smyth. There's a plaque on the door at the Treasury Department today noting that, I believe. For your prize, you get to spend the night unchaperoned in the Bureau of Printing and Engraving in D.C.

RE: Extra Credit Questions
No bathrooms. Don't drink any fluids after 11:00 A.M. Pretend you're doing a prep for a colonoscopy.

RE: Extra Credit Questions
Joe, I've had 3 of them, and I know what happens. I was just testing Rich to see if he had the self control to stay with all that money and ignore any other "urges."

What is the name of the photographer who lent Lincoln his coat prior to taking his picture?

One of my favorite stories about Lincoln at a photography studio--it was Samuel G. Alschuler, a Bavarian immigrant, in April 1858. Lincoln had been wearing an old linen duster (perhaps white?) and Alschuler loaned him his very short coat--Lincoln's arns stuck way out of the sleeves, much to Lincoln's delight. Alschuler also took the first "bearded" Lincoln in November, 1860. |

RE: Extra Credit Questions
Yea, Joe! You got another one. Kudos!
I keep giving away all my photos. You win a photograph of Abraham Lincoln's sister, Sarah, taken on her wedding day - August 2, 1826. |
