RE: Assassination Trivia
Was he one of the traveling undertakers for the trip back to Springfield?
So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in?

Gene, that is sure a logical guess, but he was not one of those folks.

Eva, not that post. Here is where Kees mentioned the name of the man in the photo Blaine sent:

Now try to think of something that happened there that more than one man claimed to do.

RE: Assassination Trivia
Col. George V. Rutherford as one of those who claimed to have placed the silver half-dollars on Lincoln's eyes?

Brilliant, Eva! This was a tough question.

At least four men claimed to have placed coins over Lincoln's eyes: Dr. Charles Augustus Leale, John L. Bolton, Colonel George V. Rutherford, and Colonel Thomas McCurdy Vincent.

Once again, thanks to Blaine for sending the photo.

Eva, I cannot think of a prize for this - I'll simply wish you a wonderful day.

As far as I know this is the only memorial CDV for a Lincoln conspirator - who was the conspirator? (the name has been cropped out)

It's beautiful. I try my fellow countryman first - Atzerodt?

Excellent, Eva! Indeed George Atzerodt is correct. Many thanks to Blaine for sending it. He found it in an antique shop in Gettysburg.

You win a beautiful and warm summer in Germany.

RE: Assassination Trivia
It looked German to me - I realize that doesn't mean it doesn't look American either...
Love the prize!
