Is the camel at the Davis sight a throw-back nod to his idea of using them in the military when he was Secretary of War?

I believe so.
Camels were also imported to Australia, where the population of certain types of Camels today is fairly high when compared to the rest of the world.

Yes, the cigarettes are still manufactured. I remember my grandfather smoked Camels because they did not have a filter. I've never smoked, and the idea of an unfiltered cigarette seems rather gross.
