Off topic, but a brief warning here, Ed. Roger is a great fan of the Chicago Cubs, so avoid any disparaging remarks about them on this forum.

I'm glad I read through this thread. I thought at first it was talking about Milford, Michigan!

Sounds like a great event. Richard Sloan did a similar "dueling slides" show on Lincoln's funeral commemorations a few years ago at a Surratt conference. Lots of work and technical expertise went into it.

If you're ever in the north jersey area, take the short trip to historic Milford, Pa. Not only will you enjoy the museum (and the Lincoln flag), but you'll marvel at its historical buildings, many of which are from the mid-1800s. There's also a cool bookstore (which boasts President Clinton as a patron) and a wonderful restaurant at the Hotel Fauchere.

BTW: The Pike County Historical Society sells a twelve-page pamphlet called "The Lincoln Flag of the Pike County Historical Society." As with the book on the same subject, Joseph Garrera is the author.

I believe that Milford is also home to our Rich Smyth. And, Joe Garrerra is a Lincoln collector and very knowledgeable - also a friend.

You are correct Laurie and I will second the Fauchere as a great dining experience.

I'd love to read Mr. Garrera's book about the "Lincoln Flag" but the only library that seems to have it is the AL Presidential Library in Springfield. However . . . I'll look for it this Sunday at the Milford event.
