Dave,

Great job--a striking new banner. Thanks for your work.

RE: Banner at top of page
The banner is not centered on my screen, but the forum and threads are. I never have to scroll to read them. Here is what it looks like:

It's not a problem for me. I just thought I'd mention it. I hope I didn't offend anyone.

Maybe the problem is something with my computer settings, not yours...

RE: Banner at top of page
That is very similar to what I get because I have my browser set to enlarge things due to my poor eyesight. Here's how the banner looks on my screen:

However, the postings, etc. are centered properly. I have my browser set to "zoom" things at 143%, not the normal 100%. This is why I lose many things on the right side of the screen.

I also have an older 5:4 monitor, which is almost square. I am guessing folks with the newer widescreen (16:9) monitors see Dave's banner as being centered.

RE: Banner at top of page
When you take into account the Lincoln profiles on the left and right, it is fine on my computer. The profiles, however, are a tad dark - especially the one on the right. It wasn't until I got home yesterday and went on my laptop that I even realized there was another profile on the right.

Here is what the banner looks like when I change the monitor resolution to 1024 x 768 px. It still extends a little off to the right.

I have my monitor set at 100%. I get the same results with Internet Explorer.

RE: Banner at top of page
Kate is right, the banner seems longer than most computer screens. I can try to shrink it, but I think Kate has the best solution, Roger. I have a widescreen monitor at home, an old "tube" style monitor at work, and my iPhone can surf the web. They all show the banner differently. On my widescreen one, the banner is fine, albeit it doesn't stretch the entire webpage. On my work computer, the banner get's cut off on the right starting with Lincoln's ear. On my iPhone, the banner extends way past the rest of the forum. I can make the banner smaller, of course, but then it would still be different on different monitors. If you can set it to "auto-size" to whatever display the visitor's computer settings are at, I think that would be the best.

Also, thanks to all for the nice comments. When I sent the image to Roger I told him how I always like switching up the header images I use on Boothiebarn, and at least this would give him the option. I know there are more more knowledgable and talented Photoshoppers out there than I, in case Roger wants more down the road.

RE: Banner at top of page
Thanks, Dave. Unfortunately the normal HTML code I use to center an image on a web page does not seem to work with the MyBB software. Thus, at least for the time being, we'll just have to live with the banner appearing differently on different screens.

While I love the banners - either one - I love the postings much more!
