Well, that's what I had thought for awhile-but no, Grant was not.

Rob: You're are quite correct. To date, that fact remains true. His rank was even higher than George Washington's rank. Washington's highest rank (equal to Pershings) was given after his death.

RE: "Stump the Yankee"
Rebels 6
Yankee 2 Good evening and welcome back to the first "Stump The Yankee" of 2013. Despite the successive beatings I've suffered here lately, I'm still very excited about this round and send my heartfelt wishes for a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year to all of my Stars and Bars waving friends! Happy New Year, you black eyed pea eatin' Rebels! I've heard eating them on New Years Eve brings good luck. I hope you all had a heapin' helpin', because you're gonna need it for this one. Now prepare for the Rebellion to be squashed. I'm winning this one. Let's get started. Booth's mindset had deteriorated considerably since Lincoln's re-election. His drinking increased, he was short tempered and his family and friends made remarks about his instability. An event happened in early 1865 with a fellow actor that really tells how emotionally bankrupt Booth had become. What the heck was it? He wouldn't eat black eyed peas on New Years Eve
So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in? |

RE: "Stump the Yankee"
Just a wild guess here Joe, but was it Booth threatening Chester after chester refused to have anything to do with the kidnapping plot?

RE: "Stump the Yankee"
I'm off to a refreshingly good start! I'm very sorry, Rebel Gene and Yankee/Rebel stand in Craig, but both answers are incorrect.

RE: "Stump the Yankee"
Was it Booth's visit to Edwin's house where they had an argument and Edwin ordered him from his house, Booth telling him, "You and I can't see eye-to-eye on that subject!" ?

RE: "Stump the Yankee"
The incident where McCullough walked in and saw Booth with a map and weapons spread out on the bed?

RE: "Stump the Yankee"
I'm afraid not, She Rebel from Surrattsville, but you're onto something there!
Hint # 1 - The fellow actor was indeed John McCullough. "There are few subjects that ignite more casual, uninformed bigotry and condescension from elites in this nation more than Dixie - Jonah Goldberg" |

Hint # 2 - These numbers somehow figure into this incident. 1 - 2 - 3.
