I have two letters written by Anna Surratt after her mother's execution posted on my blog. The second letter has been reproduced and/or transcribed in several books, but I don't remember seeing a transcription of the first letter anywhere.
Fascinating, Susan! No, I have never seen the first letter either. I was aware that she had applied for her mother's remains, but was denied. Didn't know that she had made the request so early (July 8th) though -
Thanks for this intriguing and tragic glimpse!

Another pillow tied to the assassination! I wonder what happened to it? The letters show how Anna was so tied to her and her mother's faith. Thank you Susan for the posting.
