Yes; the weather is not as wonderful as it could be, but that may actually be close to what the weather was in 1865. Wasn't it drizzling rain that night?

Lilacs...the official mourning flower of the Lincoln assassination. Very lovely and appropriate. Thanks for sharing it with the unhappy Forum member stuck out West in El Lay.

ETA: Jim it was indeed misting as President and Mrs. Lincoln arrived at Ford's and as the evening went on it began to rain.

Checking in with some photos from Ford's. The photos taken from the back of Ford's were done so at approximately 10:20 pm. No one else thought to go back there at that time! I was more than a little surprised.

Oh my God...look at that crowd...similar to what it must have been like 150 years ago tonight...but of course without the shock, confusion and chaos of April 14 1865.
