Bill, thank you for posting the sad news. I just read the Wikipedia article on him and learned many things I did not know including the fact that he was a speechwriter for Barry Goldwater in 1964.

Thanks for posting Bill. I had heard Jaffa's name related to Lincoln scholarship/study but knew next to nothing about him. Like Roger I read the Wikipedia page on him. Quite interesting.

I really liked that he debated with Thomas DiLorenzo. I was hoping that some of the members of the Forum are familiar with his writings.

Bill, my knowledge of Jaffa and his writings is very superficial, but that will likely change in the coming months. He sounds like he was a very interesting man, not to mention brilliant.
And just 3 years short of reaching his 100th birthday... |
