Hinckley had made several trips to our Nation's Capital before the assassination attempt. A postcard of Reagan to Jodie Foster dated 2/15/81 was likely bought at one of them Souvenir stores in DC, but that too is unknown. What is known is Hinckley had a room at a hotel near the White House (The defunct Park City Hotel if I'm not mistaken) and had an Egg McMuffin at a McDonald's on K Street the morning of the attempt.
