RE: Trivia Advent Calendar
It is in it's "original" location, as close as the folks who reconstructed Ford's in the 1960's could tell. The only things original about Ford's, from the time of the assassination, are, as far as I know, the 10th. St. facade and the two side walls.

Hint # 1.75 - It's at Ford's.

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar
Get ready to push the buzzer, but I'll take two guesses: The notch used to hold the door to the Presidential Box shut OR the chunk taken out of Washington's picture frame?

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar
Ding, ding, ding!!! We have a winner!! My pal Laurie has nailed this one! It's the Washington engraving that adorned (and still does) Boxes 7 & 8 at Ford's Theater!

Supposedly dented by Booth's spur, this silent witness to the assassination is still there and the damage is clearly visible from the back of the box, even today. While some say it may have been the work of a souvenier hunter, I think the fact that several witnesses said Booth knock it almost upside down gives credence to the fact that this is tangible evidence that Booth meant business on April 14th., 1865.

Let's get the score tally started and put one of last year's winners at the top!

Congratulations, Laurie!!

Welcome back to Day 2 of the Trivia Advent Calendar. With another 23 days of fun left, I'm so excited, I almost can't stand it! Lets pull the lever on another one and keep the theme the same - a silent witness!

What is this?

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar
reminds me of when I sneezed the other day and lost my gum.... but to start things rolling I'll guess a mini ball fragment

So when is this "Old Enough To Know Better" supposed to kick in?

Any way of enlarging the photo?

My first guess was part of a loaf of monkey bread!

I tried enlarging it Laurie, it looked like a part of a loaf of monkey bread.

There is none, Gene. I just know before this is over she's going to want to throttle me, so I'm just trying to earn it.

You're getting warmer, Eva! While it wasn't covered in fur, it did come from a living thing.

No, sir. It was part of a living thing.

Is it that piece of hair on display at the Army Medical Museum that had to be removed from that girl after she ate it?

RE: Trivia Advent Calendar
Close enough, Thomas! Although the Mutter Medical Museum in Philadelphia is not exactly sure if it's scrapings from Booth's vertebrae or a piece of his thorax, it is attributed to having been removed from Booth during his autopsy. Nice job.
