Upon further review--"The Guest"at the trial of the Lincoln Conspirators
I have decided to change my talk at the National Women's Rights Hall of Fame.I just don't have enough proof to show that Dr.Mary Walker was present at the execution of the Conspirators. The photo is based on speculation on my part.I can prove that she was at the trial, but not the execution.I do feel badly for this historical mistake and speculation. However,we don't want to jump to conclusions, and be sorry afterwards!

Herb, there is definitely evidence she was there. Please see Betty's post here.
Herb, do you have Twenty Days? If so, please see p. 208 which indicates she was present at the hanging. IMO, she was present in the prison yard but perhaps not seen in the existing photos. |

You can always preface it with saying something like "Sources are few, but there is credible evidence (cite Betty's article(s) that Dr. Walker was present at the execution. To my knowledge, however, no photo exists of her in the prison yard." |
