| Professor Tonry on Ladies' Toiletries
Professor William P. Tonry, Anna Surratt's husband, delivered a lecture in 1875 on the chemical makeup of women's toiletries. I wonder if he used the contents of Anna's dressing table? If he did, I hope she left off using the items in question after hearing what went into these concoctions! ![[Image: NewYorkCommercialAdvertiserMarch21875Ton...b74531.jpg]](http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d114/Susan_Higginbotham/NewYorkCommercialAdvertiserMarch21875TonryonToiletries_zpse2b74531.jpg) | |||

Facilitating! And yes, Anna's toiletries were probably used in this experiment - I know that the "Roseate Bloom" was one of Mrs. Demorest's products and advertised quite frequently in her magazine; while "Laird's Bloom of Youth"supposedly contained arsenic!
