Thanks Roger!

Hmm. I don't know. I admit it does sound like it has the potential for wicked comedy, but in my experience presidential assassinations are simply not very funny....at all.

Remember that doofus who flopped hosting the Oscars a couple of years ago, cracking that actor Daniel Day-Lewis had as much success "getting inside Lincoln's head" as John Wilkes Booth did?

Can't remember his name.

Seth MacFarlane, maybe? I admit to laughing at some of his jokes, but always with the sense I shouldn't be.

Hi Susan-

Yes, I think he's the one. He might be funny on other occasions, but his Academy Awards performance was a complete flop, imo!

Killing someone is nothing to laugh about. It just shows how some humans have so far to go.

Some people might argue that at a distance of 150 years it's "safe" to make the assassination a topic of comedy/satire.I can't agree. So many lives were destroyed that night, and not just that of President Lincoln and his family. Murder isn't funny period, but a presidential assassination will never have true comedy potential ever, imo.

I feel the same way about the murders of presidents Garfield, McKinley, and Kennedy. Those are traumatic events in the nation's history that I would just as soon not see turned into something to laugh about.

I do like the title though! I can see and hear Jack Nicholson exclaiming: "You can't handle the Booth!"
